Sonja’s Approach
for Goldpop

I believe good hair is a team effort. You can trust me to help you learn about your hair with all it’s quirks and issues—and in turn, I’ll help create the vision you are hoping for. Between my years of experience and your years of managing your hair, my goal is to have you as my happy client as we work together.

Consultation is key. You know your hair, you know what works, and what feels right. Some clients love the straight razor, where others have had an awful experience with that type of cutting tool. These are the questions I will be asking you and of course, answering. I love pictures that you bring in, it’s a starting point and gives me an idea of what you are hoping for. I also like putting the pictures down and really looking at your hair type, density, and growth patterns. Most of all, I will learn how much effort you want to put in to maintain a certain look. Managing expectations is probably the biggest thing I do. I want our teamwork to be successful.

Since moving from a very big salon to my own little studio, there’s a great benefit to my clients. It is quiet and I am the only stylist, you are the most important person at that moment as I have no distractions. I have created a colorful, clean, and client-focused atmosphere and my goal is to help you look and feel your best.

I use and sell products that work and produce easily achievable results. You are invited and welcome to peruse my Kevin Murphy product line.

Welcome to Goldpop, come on in and have a seat!

The idea behind the name

Coming up with a name for a new business is such a monumental undertaking. Opening my own salon was my baby, and this baby needed a name. Knowing that it sets the tone, I dug deep down and thought about what makes me happy and creative. I’ve always liked gold, the color and the metal. It’s warm, radiant, and feels classic to me. It goes with everything and every color. “Pop” is short for popular, and when I thought about the two words together, well, a business was born. I thought it had energy and spunk.
